FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I apply Simply Clay Salve? +

Start by rinsing dirt or debris from the wound. Once dry, mound a ¼- to ½-inch thick layer of Simply Clay Salve over the injury, tapering it toward the edges to seal the wound and keep the clay in place. No need to remove dried clay before reapplying—just add more right on top.

Should I wrap the wound after applying Simply Clay Salve? +

For best results, cover the treated area with gauze and a wrap to keep the clay moist and protect the wound. If wrapping isn’t an option, simply reapply the salve two to three times a day until the wound heals.

What if my horse licks off Simply Clay Salve? +

No worries—Simply Clay Salve is all-natural. It’s made from purified water and bentonite clay, which is safe for your horse to lick or swallow in small amounts.

How long should Simply Clay Salve be left on? +

Without a wrap, the clay typically stays in place for an hour or two before sloughing off. Covered wounds keep the clay moist and extend its effectiveness. Reapply two to three times daily to help speed healing.
